On May 12, 1887, Viola Dale Ripley and Richard Allen White were married in Fayette County, West Virginia. CD Kincaid officiated at the ceremony.

This site is dedicated to Viola Dale Ripley. Like many of us, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. The daughter of a Civil War Union soldier, she was born during a time when women were overshadowed by their husbands. During her life, women acquired the right to vote and work outside the home. She bore 18 children and buried many of them. She is buried on this beautiful hilltop in Springdale, WV.
